HORSE
Horses are the most popular hosts for the production of large volumes of serum. Gentle animals with a robust immune system, they provide high titer sera against most immunogens in volumes sufficient for most industrial applications.
Quality Bioresources, Inc. will provide:
- Pre-immune serum
- Test Bleed(s)
- Immunizations (all immunizations are IM)
- Production bleeds (0.75 - 1.5 liters of sera/month)
- Animals, care, and veterinary expenses
- Freund's adjuvant (complete for 1st injection, incomplete for subsequent boosts)
- Serum purification (centrifugation)

Note: Horses can not be used in the High Affinity Protocol. However, Quality Bioresources, Inc. has designed an alternative protocol to produce high affinity antibodies in horses.
